Our Brief

"Your task this term is to use any specific boardgame as inspiration to create a novel interactive experience"

Basically, use an existing boardgame as inspiration for a digital piece which isn't a game itself.
Lets elborate...

    - Boardgame can also include puzzles, card games, games of skill, traditional games
    - Interactive experience can include artwork, a game, piece of software, video etc...
    - Location can be real, on-line, virtual, or a mix.

The final product must show a clear lineage that traces back to the original game!

We also have a set of rules:

    - You must work in teams
    - You must actually produce a final piece
    - Teams should take advantage of the technologies, tools and techniques taught throughout the two terms
    - You may use existing components but these should be clearly referenced
    - You must follow the development lifecycle as outlined in iDAT101 last term.

And just to help us - a copy of the marking criteria...
    • Clear "lineage" to original inspiring concept
    • New ideas that "take it to the next level"
    • Creativity and originality of entire piece
    • Aesthetics (visual, audible, interaction etc)
    • Novelty of the technology used and created
    • Scale and ambition of product
    • Technical achievement of realisation
    • Appropriateness and effectiveness of the interaction mechanism
    • Pleasurability and longevity of experience
